Saving AJ Once again!
Rudy has done it again! AJ was trending low without noticing and Rudy alerted to it. We tested AJ after the alert, he was 111. AJ decided he didn't want to eat. With Rudy consistently nudging and trying to alert we told AJ to test again. He then said, "Mom, I kinda don't feel good." so after he tested he was 80. Thinking that a cup a noodle would pop him right back up he ate the whole thing! but Rudy was still alerting. He was actually barking.... Rudy was trying to tell us that the cup a noodle wasn't going to do it because once again AJ said,"Mom I really do not feel good." For the third time within an hour we tested his blood. He was now 62. Rudy was still nudging and giving the paw, barking, anything to get our attention. AJ ate some skittles and 15 minutes later we tested him again. He went back up but only to 80. We had him eat 5 more skittles and he popped up to 132. Without Rudy AJ could have trended even lower. He wouldn't have eaten the cup a noodles and it could have been bad. Rudy didn't give up! He saved his life because of his determination and we couldn't have asked for a better dog!
